Meet Our Owner
Chuck Ackerman is passionate about food. The owner of The new Links Restaurant has been involved in the culinary field for over four decades, having embraced virtually all aspects of the food industry. From professional catering, executive bartending, restaurant management, and purveying for U.S. Food Service to restaurant and institutional procurement for A.F. Wendling’s Foodservice in Buckhannon, Chuck now proudly brings his extensive experience in food and beverage excellence to The Links.
Bringing Taste to the Forefront
Chuck’s love of fine food and beverages is an integral part of his being – and has been for as long as he can remember — going all the way back to his childhood in Staten Island. Having spent most of his adult life in the Poconos and the Lehigh Valley Region of Pennsylvania, Chuck developed his skills for identifying the best local ingredients and regional specialties that he now incorporates into his dishes, along with the finest meats and spices from around the world. He absolutely adores cooking and experimenting with new foods, flavors, and textures. As a classic foodie, Chuck has a deep connection to the roots of his cuisine and brings taste to the forefront with his dynamic approach. If you’re looking for Chuck and he’s not on the golf course, look in the kitchen. That is where you’ll find him exploring new combinations and tastes to develop into recipes and dishes for our guests to enjoy.
With Chuck in his element, his joie de vivre and energetic exuberance for creating delicious food has been reignited. He and wife, Jody, have been with us in Buckhannon for 12 years now, having first lived in Philippi for two years after the move to West Virginia. He is a passionate outdoorsman who loves to hunt, fish, and spend quality time with children Jonathan and Janel. The apples of his eye are his five grandchildren: Hayley, Liam, Gabriel, McKenna, and Annabella.
